Anti Wrinkle Injections
Muscle relaxing anti-wrinkle injections are one of the most popular cosmetic procedures to improve and prevent appearance of wrinkles.
At Wonderful Skin, we use Botox® (Allergan) which is a botulinum toxin type A, a protein which temporarily causes muscles to relax and prevent wrinkles. This treatment has been used medically for over 30 years.
The anti-wrinkle injections are used to soften the frown lines between the eyebrows and the forehead, and also around the crow’s feet area of the eyes, helping to restore a refreshed appearance.
At Wonderful Skin we aim for a softer, more natural look which allows us to achieve a significant line improvement while maintaining normal facial expression.
Botulinum toxin can also be used to treat excessive sweating (known as hyperhidrosis) by giving injections to the armpit area, and to help with teeth grinding, jaw line contouring and reducing gummy smiles.
How long does it last
Botox treatments last approximately 3 to 5 months, depending on the area injected. Only the injected muscles are affected (so you can maintain normal expression) and they will recover completely once the treatment wears off naturally.
Dermal Fillers
Dermal fillers are made of hyaluronic acid (HA) which is nature’s ‘plumping molecule’ and is found naturally in your body. As we age, skin loses its natural HA, leading to a loss of volume, the formation of wrinkles, sagging and reduced hydration and support. Dermal fillers replace the lost HA, revitalising and adding volume to the skin to, instantly reducing the appearance of lines and wrinkles for a natural, ‘lifted’ appearance.
At Wonderful Skin we use a new generation of facial fillers; the Juvéderm range from Allergan, world leaders in surgical and non-surgical aesthetic products. These temporary fillers create subtle enhancements by filling hollows and deep lines to smooth them out for a more youthful appearance.
Juvéderm’s advanced products contain Lidocaine, a local anaesthetic, to help numb the area while simultaneously administering the treatment. This has been proven to improve patients’ experience by reducing any possible discomfort within a matter of minutes, while the treatment itself can take anywhere from 15 upto 30 minutes depending on the desired effect and patient.
How long do they last?
The result of a single treatment can be seen instantly and can last for around 6 to 9 months, depending on the area injected. Some dermal fillers can last even longer – for around 12 months – before the HA is naturally broken down by the body.
